Thats a beauty thread! lots of guys will be able to use this. I myself when i first starting chasing long beards years ago had a piece of paper in my vest similar to your post. I often found myself referring to it to decide what call to use at times. It was my "turkey hunting for dummies" booklet

Good stuff... I have also used a fighting purr. Its louder n more aggressive then the relaxed purr.. it has worked pretty good for me late in the season when most hens r bred.

Thanks for the great post! ....but now I have a question...

I've been practicing with my mouth call for about a month and a half mostly from watching YouTube. Most guys on YouTube say when making the different types of calls to mouth a certain word.
For yelping I've been saying "chuck", purring I just roll my tongue, but to cluck, cut, cackle, or putt there seem to be different words and I don't really know which one is best. I was saying "putt" for a cluck. Yesterday I watched another video that told me to say "chirp" for a cluck.

What words do you say to distinguish between a cluck and a putt? Friday will be my first day out this year and after reading your post I really don't want to get the to calls confused and putt at the turkey when I'm trying to cluck.
Thanks in advance for your help!
