2010 Fall Turkey Success
Last night I shot a doe and even though it was a pass-through I couldn’t find my arrow in the tall grass. I went back this morning to find my arrow. I brought my bow with because there have been several times where I’ve done something like this and I didn’t have my bow and if I would have had my bow I could have had a shot at a deer or turkey. I found my arrow under some grass. On my way back to the car I noticed a group of 4 young tom turkeys in an alfalfa field. I nocked an arrow and shot the one closest to me which was about 20 yards. The shot went right through his lower back and the broadhead made it out through the chest. The arrow was lodged in the bird. The bird ran about 30 yards, flopped around a little, and that was it.
He weighed 18.5 lbs. and had two beards – one was 6.5”, the other 3”. Spurs were 7/8".
Here he is as I found him on the edge of the alfalfa field.
A few more pics.

Great job!!
Did you use the same arrow you found from the pass thru on your doe kill? By the way Great job on the doe kill also.

Thanks Wrinkleneck. They were shot with different arrows. The blades on the turkey kill were bent a little but not on the doe. Now I need to clean those arrows up and get them ready for the next hunt.

Thanks guys.
I wish I would have bought another tag when they were available prior to shooting this one but they sold out fast for that unit.
