They may be henned up and quiet in the morning, but just wait it out until 9ish and get yourself in a place close to were turkeys travel. Once those hens leave those toms mid morning, they are love sick and will come in pretty vocal. They have been called to and have heard everyone call the last couple of weeks, so during these last periods, less is more. I also don't use any decoys. I have seen more toms spook or hang up seeing them than helping this time of year.

I agree 100% ....a lot of times ill sleep in in the Morning in late season , wake up at like 8 then head out and the toms are very vocal all through the day

Exactly. Great advice. I've killed 3 Tom's all in late season between 10am and 11am. Last year Tom was at 11am 5th season. He must of gobbled 20 times or more coming in.

Been a long, drawn out breeding season here in Mid-Michigan. Heard of some guys finding nests already, but on the other hand saw an older tom breeding a hen last Thursday.

I agree with the mid-day hunts as well......during these hours I'm on the move until I find a lone tom, as this will typically be an older bird and most willing to commit to calls and decoys.
