TURKEY Hunting for ole Backstraps

Unread postby backstraps » Sat Apr 20, 2013 3:53 pm

Hey guys! Have not been on much as I have wanted to lately! Hope you all are doing well.

Wanted to touch base. The turkey hunting has been very tough so far this season.

I was able to get the first one down last week. Then the overtime at work kicked in!

I have chased after a HEAVY PRESSURED bird for the last few days (thanks to some doctors appts getting me out of so much work) I will have to post up pictures and storiy on him. Long story short, finally got him today after using some tactics that I have not heard many turkey hunters talk about. It has worked in the past years, on old educated birds, and once again tonight it proved true once more for me.

My daughter was able to harvest one last Saturday morning. What a rush that hunt was.

It feels like its been forever since I have been on here, I could probably do 30 post just getting caught up :)

I am going to spend an hour or so trying to get my washed out photobucket account to work enough to load up some pics. Will post pics tomorrow sometime.

Hope you all the best going after the turkeys!!!

Tony

Thanks guys. I put a couple stories in The Kill Zone.

Heather didnt want me to post up pics of hers because she is in all the pics. :)

None the less, her story is pretty cool. She is 17 years old, and surprises me
sometimes what a good hunter she is. She has some great woodsmanship and
can be stealthy as a fox!!
