Time to start thinking Turkey

Unread postby Uncle Lou » Wed Mar 06, 2013 5:53 am

With ice fishing winding down, and coyote over here. Spose I will start scouting the birds a bit. I always keep my out out for them. Also I lost a hunting spot I had for the last 12 yrs, but moving on to greener pastures.

Saw these tactics on the Grandview Media Blasts I get and thought I would share.

The first one caught my attention and was called Fan'Em
This looks like a blast, and I think something similar has been discussed here with a full decoy, Bob Robb is just using the fan with a partner. Check it out. And of course they discuss the safety concerns

When the link loads there are at least 3 more stories on techniques. Once the link loads there should be a scroll button on the right side of the page. Just keep going, couple ads to scroll through, then the next stories. The second is some tips by
Mark Drury, Matt Morret of Hunter Specialties, and Chris Kirby of Quaker Boy Game calls.

Any comments or discussion is encouraged, got to plan something hitting the freezer or grill.

Ive been watching the "King of Spring" show this season which is the Drury's having a competition... and so on.

I saw one of them pull out a fan... and it seemed to close the deal.

I wont try it as I hunt public... and even the private it would be dangerous.

Turkey hunting on TV/Magazines is typically nothing like the way I hunt or the terrain... no fields around here, and even so the birds here are smart and dont show themselves often.

I hunt a lot of public as well, and some private that gets trespassed, but I would still be tempted to try it in the right situation here in MI. I guess I just like the RunNGun Aspect of it.
