Late season tactics?
Im just wrapping up my last days of finals for college this semester, and plan to be in the woods hunting down a gobbler! I have never really had much luck with them later in the seasons, and want to know what strategies i should try. I am using the bow otherwise i would be doing alot of that. And im going to be using the camera haha

Re: Late season tactics?
For me late season still comes down to scouting - know where they roost and where they want to travel. I will hunt near the roost, along a well defined travel route, or in a strut zone. I've had some success later in the day 6th season by hunting near the fields they frequent before heading to roost by dong some calling and in my experience they tend to come in silent.
In the morning they're still gobbling on the roost and for a while on the ground. Some toms still have hens with them when roosting while others don't.
Go out and give it a try. Make adjustments to your set up if necessary depending on what you are seeing and hearing.
Good luck.
