Wisconsin re draw?
How does Wisconsin work the selling of left over tags? I've received a couple invites to come up and shoot a Wisconsin bird and would like to know what I'm needing to do.
Yeah, I'm too lazy/busy to go to the website and figure it out. Thanks in advance.

Left over tags are sold 1st come 1st serve basis. Not sure about non-residents though...

I think this is what your looking for. I sure hope they update it and get some leftover tags for zone 2, I was counting on one of those!

Wisconsin dosen't have enough birds for everyone to hunt at the same time?
Getting a one week season and applying for tags must suck.

YUP! And it costs the same $$$ as a deer tag! Turkeys are nuisance IMO

Re: Wisconsin re draw?
Who wants to come to NY and hunt turkeys?
We can hunt the whole month of May, with a 2 tom limit. Plus stripers are running that time of year..and morels.

I would love to go striper fishing sometime... that looks like a BLAST! Here in WI, we have whitebass - look like mini-stripers and they are aggressive fish.

Re: Wisconsin re draw?
It does suck to have to draw a tag and one week season.
Last year I was all set for my week and plans changed and could only hunt one day.

FYI - results are available. They aren't posted on the licensing/permit part of the website, but if you open an online chat here http://dnr.wi.gov/contact/ and provide them with your DNR Customer #, they will be able to give you your drawing status.

Re: Wisconsin re draw?
Like others said, it's over the counter first come first serve. They start each zone on a different day. Make sure you know which zone you will be hunting in. Usually only the later periods are left. We get 6 periods, each a full week now. Find out which day your zone goes on sale and get all your license info into the system before that day so you can just purchase online. Some zones with only a few tags left will sell out in a couple of hours.

Zone 1 time period A, my first choice, same for my dad. Hopefully we can tag out opening morning and go walleye fishing afterwards!
