Did not weigh him... I would guess around 22 or 23 pounds
Spurs were about an inch.
Beard was around 12 inches...
Never really cared much about stats... A big tom, is a big tom.
video?

yea... Got great footage. I self filmed it with two different video cameras and both got great video. 8-)

Do you have bonus tags?

Yes, I have two May tags for zone 1

Well done Dan

12 inch beard is nice. But 23 pounder is nicer, that will go well on the grill or in the oven.

Lou,
I used to pluck my turkeys and Ma would cook them whole like a store bought bird.. But it was hit or miss with how they turned out. So we tried the deep fryer and they tasted like grease. Had a friend come hunt with me from Tennessee and showed me how to breast them. I had always been under the thought that breasting was a waste of meat until I saw he got almost everything except the drumsticks which are hard and full of tendons anyway... We used to always end up tossing the legs out anyway...
Now Ma has a recipe with a golden mushroom soup gravy that is the bomb! I might be able to get it out of her if anybody is interested.

I'd be interested in that recipe the last time I had wild turkey it sat in a slow cooker literally all day and it was still like eating a leather shoe...just terrible. Congrats on the bird sounds like quite hunt bet that guy left quite a mess on the ground seeing you pop out of a bush at about 5yards
