I choose 2nd with no real reason behind it. We usally have leftover tags you can buy over the counter for the later seasons in my area and I will snag 1 of those to also hunter a later season don't really matter which one. Archery for me

Re: What spring turkey season did you pick and why
On of the main reasons why i like the later seasons is because the OLD gobblers arnt all henned up. Usually the hens are on there nest buy may 10.....right around mothers day is the prime time too ME.....
i dont even have to wake up early i can sleep in till nine ten in the mouring go out and still find a gobbling brid looking for a hot hen....thats the draw back about the first few seasons .....most of all the time gobblers will fly down and shut cause hes got what he wants right there with him. so its hard but easy to kill turkeys in the early seasons...its not hard to kill a two or three year oldmost of the time they come running right in.... but when they get to be 4-5 then where talking brains (what little brains they have ) and experience

Re: What spring turkey season did you pick and why
I went for week 4(1st choice) and week 2 (2nd choice), they both land on my weekend off of work.....I seem to have better luck in my spots a little later in the spring.....hopefully none interfere with the HB scouting workshop!
When better is possible, good is never good enough
