My brother saw nothing Friday or Saturday as was the same for my sister In law who I sat with on stand who's bear hunting for her 1st time this year. My dad also saw nothing Friday or Saturday but his weekend wasn't quite over I guess. We checked all of the baits and camera's today before we left to head home and the bait that dad shot his 400 pounder on last year showed 2 big bear that hit In the middle of the night last night. One of these bear has never hit this bait. The smallest of the 2 to me Is In that 325lb dressed range. The other Is much bigger In my opinion.
My dad lives only 35 minutes from where we bear hunt and I had no Idea dad was even going to hunt this evening. Well, he connected this evening again on another beast of a bear. He thinks It's the bigger one that came In but he's not sure as his nerves went absolutely nuts when this bear showed up.
This Is coming from someone who's hunted bear for 37 years. An hour later after making a couple phone calls to my brother and I he went and tracked his bear by himself. Lets put It this way, a congratulation's Is In order from me to my dad!! Dad said he's still not sure what bear It Is yet. He figures for sure It's no smaller then 300lbs dressed. Shortly after he found It (bear went 47 yards) dad made the 1/4 mile walk back to the road where his truck Is to call us and tell us the good news that he found It. He's now driving back to his house to gather some help from his Fire Department buddies (my dads on the Fire Department) to help drag this bear out whole after he guts him out Instead of quartering It out like him and I did last year on his 400lb dressed bear. Pics to follow early this week. Believe me, I can't get them quick enough. Congratulation's dad on what should be 4 P&Y bear In 4 years. 
Sure wish we all could've been there with him.
