Bridge you worked your tail off for that bear, Congrats. That was definitely BEASTly.

And Backwoods if Chad and Dan and the Group are up bear hunting I just left Chad a message on Bridges Bear, I am sure they would like to know.

Great story . Nice bear also.

What did you use to get this pig out of the woods this time SB?

I used a bear sized Otter sled... reality set in when I had a heck of a time getting the bear into the sled! If you'd have dumped a five-gallon bucket of water on me it would have been less liquid than the sweat I endured getting that bear out. Deet didn't make much of an impact on the bugs either, when you sweat like that. When I started my drag the medium sized can of bear spray blew up in my left front pocket, turning my pants and shirt orange for a couple of feet in both directions. My new reality at that moment was just how much of a skin irritant that stuff is, for the next several hours it felt like someone was burning me with a blow-torch in that area... That along with dragging the bear two-feet at a time for many hours was almost more reality than I could take for one evening! :?

Awesome hunt! Sounds like you earned him, congrats! 8-)

I'm have never bear hunted... is the rope through the nose the way to tag one if you want to keep the cape perfect?

When I read how much trouble you were having getting that Bear out I was feeling for you and wishing I was there to help you get him out........... right up to point when the bear spray blew.  My luck it would have blasted me full force in the face. Sorry your drag was such a rough one Bridge!

Great Story! Great Hunt! I do have a stupid question though. I know nothing about Bear or Bear hunting....What the heck is sticking out of his nostrils?

Alrighty then...Thanks  I figured that's what it probably was, but I had never seen a tag fished through a nostril...must be a bear hunters thing...LOL
