New laws pertaining to bear hunting and bear dog training went into effect on July 2, 2011. These changes include the activities that can be conducted by someone holding a Class B bear license, the age at which a Class B bear license is required to assist a Class A bear license holder, changes to when and where dogs can be trained for bear hunting, and when a backtag is required to be worn while bear hunting.
