Opinions on this bear

Unread postby Chad Gus 715 » Tue Aug 18, 2020 5:37 am

I've been doing this bear baiting thing for 14 or 15 years and I'm fairly confident in my ability to judge a bears size. I'm curious what some of you think he's gonna be. The stump he has his head in is 10 inches tall and 13 inches across. The far away picture is from my neighbors bait

That bear is pushing 500lbs if not more, super impressive once in a lifetime bear. Pictures can be deceiving, like this one, you can tell it is a big bear but was surprised it weighed in at 639lbs.

Huge head on that bear.....i'm too inexperienced to give an estimate on weight...looks like a shooter!

I figure he's 495 lbs give or take 10 lbs, gonna put another camera on that bait and get some video, that should give me a better indication on his size

Photos can be deceiving to me, that bear has a nice head, but a lot of daylight under it.
I don't think it's in that five range, but I've been wrong before.

Spirit- that bear is well over 5 dressed, over 6 live

He's a mature adult male, so shoot first and weigh later.
