Northern Wisconsin Outfitters

Unread postby Mike Foss » Tue Sep 10, 2019 1:14 pm

The season will be underway starting Wednesday, weather does not look like it wants to cooperate, hunters will have to have some patients. I will be hanging around NWO camp for a few days and will be giving pictures and updates.

No I’m not guiding and no I’m not helping this year, just here cause I can’t stay away. Here to take pictures for my next issue bear story in On Wisconsin Outdoors, might get stuck dragging a bear or two.

The night before the opener, Robert Haas (in the ladder stand) owner of Northern Wisconsin Outfitters gives details during the Question & Answer period. Wednesday little rain but windy. We don't expect much tonight due to bad wind direction. Some hunters will not be hunting tonight.

As predicted yesterday the weather played a huge role in bear sightings. One beautiful 278lb Sow was was taken by this lucky hunter. Today (Thursday) is going to be nasty weather most hunters will be sitting this one out. Soon as this weather brakes bears will be hungry and I'm sure you will see more success pictures.

What happens with the baits in extremely wet weather. If they get too soggy do you have to haul the bait away? Your only allowed how many gallons at each bait station here in Wisco? If you do, it must be alot of extra work.
