DIY Zone D Wisconsin
Doing a DIY hunt in Zone D Wisconsin. Been coming from my home in the UP of Michigan. Been a long and fun baiting season, but I’m getting excited to put one of these giants down! One week of baiting to go!

Today is the day! This beast just showed up out of nowhere a few days ago, so I’m going to go after this guy today. Got a decent crosswind today that should hopefully be able to trick this fella!

Re: DIY Zone D Wisconsin
Well Friday night it all came together for my DIY Wisconsin bear hunt. Just a little before 7pm this 223lb boar came into my bait, and I double lunged him with my .338 Win Mag. I couldn’t be happier to put a tag on a great boar like this, and to refill my families freezer with delicious bear meat and fat. It’s looking like this bear will score over 18”. I will be releasing a super in-depth podcast about how this whole hunt unfolded later next month on the Bear Hunting Podcast.
I have to give a huge shout out to my good friend Mike Foss. When I drew this tag, Mike graciously offered to help me out with picking out a few different bait sites, baited my sites for me a few times when he was in town, and even came up during my bear camp, and hung out with me, dropped me off at the bait sites for the hunt(to fool the bears into thinking I baited and left), and helped me with recovering the bear. I can’t thank Mike enough for sharing his knowledge and time with me this season!

Re: DIY Zone D Wisconsin
Awesome bear, congratulations. A diy bear in Wisconsin with their baiting limitations is a great accomplishment. I look forward to the podcast. Way to go!
Persistence is undefeated.
