Love these bear hunting threads even though I haven't jumped into this pool yet. Excited to watch this unfold.

Um cuz of all the bait your were hauling in it. No offense :D. I’m wanting to buy one this fall cuz I’m sick of struggling with the beaver tail boat I’ve been using. It’s too heavy.

I decided to re bait this area from last year. I was hunting giant in this area but never did kill him.
ther is some new baiting sign that popped up, I decided to bait anyway to see if he was around. First week nothing hit. the second week a sow with 3 cubs finally opened the bait … a little slow for this spot considering it was hammered right away last year! I suspect the near by bait has something to do with it well see what happens in the next 2 weeks

I forgot to add.. while walking out, she looked up and found a bite tree from bear during mating season...thisnis becoming very common around the baits

Glad you each pulled a tag! I was rooting for you last year - remember that you had action right away but the big one gave you the slip.

Seems like there are some good bear numbers around your baits - awesome for you guys!

The whole log thing is new to me - the guys I hunted with bait bears in ME using plastic 55-gallon drums. How do you process the logs? Cut to length and hollow it out with a chain saw?

Are you both gonna trophy hunt this year?
