Advice scouting for bears

Unread postby Wapitiwarrior96 » Wed Apr 05, 2017 4:08 pm

Hey guys new to the forum and bear hunting. I drew a bear tag in WI zone C this year and I'm feeling slightly overwhelmed. trying to narrow down spots to get boots on the ground and scout. I've been pouring over Arial maps, but knowing where to start is tough! Any advice would be appreciated. How do you guys go about scouting? What do you look for on Arial maps? And when you scout thos areas on foot what are you looking for? If somone wants to point me to a good area I won't say no :D this weekend is my only weekend to scout before things green up. So I'm hoping I can narrow down some bait sites. Thanks for any pointers you guys can give!

I sent you a pm... I would concentrate on remote areas and getting away, or down wind of dogs. Close to thick swamps.
