Just picked up my bear rug
I killed my bear this past fall on October 1st up in Bayfield County hunting with Northern WI Outfitters.
Very happy with how it turned out. My taxidermist tans his own hides so turnaround on my mounts is very fast. Kinda glad I didn't shoot a 500 lb'er because I underestimated just how much room a rug actually takes. He's eventually going on the wall but I have just to figure out where yet. Running out of available wall space but suppose that's a good problem to have. Might have to bump some of the wife's wall decor.

Simply awesome. How's the dog like it?
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Very curious. Every time I bring a mount home he has to give it a complete inspection. He gave his approval so I think it stays.

Re: Just picked up my bear rug
That was quick. I just got mine on the wall a couple weeks ago, shot it in Sept '07 and got it back the following July.
Looks great, are you going to keep it on the floor for a while? I have too many dogs to do that.

No my dog would probably lay on it just because he is always looking for a new place to sleep. Does that alot since he's 13 years old.
It's out of harms way till I figure out where to hang it.
