These two just showed up together. I thought I had all the sows with cubs inventoried. Thoughts? Weight estimate on the bigger subject?

Sows are generally under 250 lbs, often less. Head triangle, chest, and forearms are smaller with sows. I was personally guessing boar and sow, but I don't know where the upper limit on sows is, hence the question.

Thanks BB. so is that sow pushing 250. Looks small but only because its dwarfed by the boar?

I'm guessing 2.5 year old sow weighing 140 lbs.

Sows will have the thick hair still at the base of the but down between the legs. Good boars thin there fast now, sows keep it. Sows also get a long whip of hairs hanging down between the legs you can see from the back now, it helps spread and keep scent. A better back picture may show it.
The legs are very slender towards the paws. Better boars get stocky legs all the way down. The muzzle does not look as thick and blocky as a boar should have if he is getting decent size, very petite looking. That a nice boar.. I think that sow is prolly a bit more then 140.. I put my cameras closer to my baits.

The 3rd picture should have given it away "nice boar". You start getting a sow over 250lbs they look extremely fat and short. Even those real huge sows over 300lbs you can still tell they are a sow just by there facial features.

A very nice looking boar and I'd say a 2 year old sow (120 to 130lbs dressed).

Boar and sow. The third pic really shows the bigger melon of a nice boar. The ears look far apart and down on the side more.
