Congrats Dewey! I am in Zone C like usual. 3rd tag since 2009. Finding good bears is a challenge. Scouting starts next week! This year will be easier than previous year s given my location just south of highway 64. I may try knocking on doors this year to get into some isolated swamps. 8-)

April 15th can't get here soon enough! I found 2 new spots on Sunday and revisited a few proven areas of years past.

#1 target going into the season with rumor that the new spot holds bigger...all pending unconfirmed death. ;)

Do you start baiting already in April?

I prefer to have things going by May 1st to take advantage of the breeding season. It is a great time to inventory and establish bait sites as the males are very mobile until the end of June. In Zone C, this is especially important as it allows you to rule out unproductive areas.

X2, You just never know when those big boars will hit a bait up in fall that's why I would certainly start running baits as early as possible
