Fall River Outfitters update (Jim Wallner Guide Service)

Unread postby Bearman13 » Thu Sep 04, 2014 3:02 pm

Opening night we shot six bears for ten hunters opening night. Also lost a bear after we tracked it through places God didn't know he created. Tuesday had four hunters on stand with seven bear seen. All were passed. Tonight a sow with four cubs was seen. Had four hunter in woods. Terrible lighting show. Have two new hunters set up for tomorrow.

Bear activity on the baits is picking up again. Lots of dogwood berries and mushrooms. Hazelnuts are just about ripe. Rasp and blue berries are gone. Tomorrow storms rolling in. I was hoping to get cams back out and get pics.

Bears killed are great sized id say a 180-190 average. We've seen over 20 bears in three nights of hunting. Four bears shot by 430 pm opening night.

No bears tonight. Had a pack of wolves come to the bait on my hunter. Checked by the warden. Slow hunting this year. I have the best size collection of bears taken so far. Tomorrow's a new day. Plenty of fresh baits with cameras.

I was taking a client to stand when I spotted a large pile of bear dung in road by one of my baits.not the blast you see. I'm talking the big tootsie roll dung from good sized bears. We killed a bear in there first night so I said let's go check that bait. The bait was hit. So we put up a cam and rebaited. Can't wait to check it out

No bears seen or killed last night. Lots of cam work and chess matching. The first legit 400 pounder daylight visitor showed yesterday. Bears are hitting baits inconsistent with all the natural food. I split open the stomachs on a couple and plum full of berries and mushrooms.

Kinda winding down with one hunters last day today. One guy has another week and one guy is coming back. Three guys coming for late season. I'm thinking it could get very good late and remote.

I'll post when I can. We don't have internet at our new house yet. Have to go to my sister in laws. Pics are organized on extended hard drive.

Tonight's a new night. I have a tag myself. I may sit tonight with the two guys on a stand they burned up. Might be a nice way to relax.

Snuck a guy in a stand at 5am I got a morning bear. I really don't like to do this but it's his last day. He got busted by a big one his first sit. I've got wolves on almost all baits now. So much for the 3,000 count.
