I took Dan's advice from last year and moved back between two low land areas. I am planning on putting up a 14' tower stand next weekend if the bear start hitting.
Setup first bear bait of the season.

I had bear hit the sit the day I set it up. So far there are 3 bear coming in, none are very big but it was nice to get bear activity right away. Bear hunting for me also starts September 1st.

Re: Setup first bear bait of the season.
this year I started baiting late because the last two years I burnt myself out by the time hunting came around. Here is the stand I will be putting up this weekend. 5x5 deck and 14' off the ground.

Re: Setup first bear bait of the season.
Here we go with the setup. After hiking everything through the woods we started putting it back together.
back together now we just need to flip it. Not as easy as I thought it would be with two teenagers and my wife. Couldn't get the four wheeler back here so we had to use a come along and some snatch block pulleys.
Got it flipped the right way up and leveled out. I am working on walls today and tomorrow and hoping I can get them out there by Wednesday to give everything a month to settle down.
