Saskatchewan 2013

Unread postby willy11674 » Wed May 01, 2013 1:25 am

I'm making the trip back to Saskatchewan again this spring for a bear hunt with BearClaw Outfitters. Myself and four other guys will be there the last week of may. I'll try and keep you updated and hopefully have some harvest pics to post when I get back. I think he still has 1 or 2 spots open due to cancellations if anyone is interested. You will not find a better price for this quality of a hunt with the high potential for color phase bears.

Sounds good.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Keep us updated.

Color phase is on my bucket list.........hopefully someday.

I have been to northern Alberta and shot (2) blacks....one was a whopper and never seen a color phase. That trip was to be my color phase hunt.....I couldn't hold back on the big blackie.

Talked to our guide Roger yesterday. He has the baits out and I think all of them are being hit. Hopefully we will have some opportunities at some color phase bears. We leave the 25th and get back June 2nd. I'lll take a lot of pics and everyone will have a video camera going on there bait sites. Hopefully they will be calm enough to get there shots on film. I'll email all the media to Dan when i get back and hopefully he can get it posted on here for you guys!!

Got back from Saskatchewan last Sunday around noon. Roger did it again this year with an awesome camp! We had four hunters and everyone saw multiple bears every day except for one. The week before us there where five guys. We ended up with four blacks, 2 where around 140 pounds with great coats for rugs, the other 2 where around 200 pounds one with a big white chest. The week before us they shot 4 with 2 pope and youngs and 2 color bears wounded. The fifth guy has shot lots of bears and was holding out for a booner. We had two misses, one at a beautiful 250 pound cinnamon and another at a pope and young black. you could see the camera shaking so i'm guessing the guys were a little jacked up! Oh well, that's why you hunt. One guy tagged out the last night and when we went to get his bear it was still early and light out. It was not quite dead yet and did not want us coming in on it so it circled and came towards 2 of us before he got another round in it. I'm guessing it was just trying to get out of there and came our way in confusion but it didn't make it any less hair raising. What a blast!! I'll try an post up a few pics of the bears. I think Roger the guide has a few openings left for fall. If you are interested let me know. For the price you will NOT beat the hunt he puts on. What he provides would cost you $3000 easy anywhere else and he is only at $1800. My group is already booked again for next spring. PM me for info if you are interested!

Bad picture of the bear I know. We cleaned it up and got better ones after this.
