Unread postby Edcyclopedia » Sat Mar 09, 2013 1:12 pm

I put this together for my buddy's widow after he passed away @ 42 in Jan. 2007.
I attempted to get it in the books but in barely missed...

[glow=red]Add your skulls to this post in tribute to my bud Tim![/glow]

Mine, the ones I still have, are rolling around on the garage floor somewhere... Not all that into skulls...
I did some searching, and I have been knocked down a notch, but currently hold the number 3 archery bear from Marathon county Wisconsin at 20 2/16... I have not entered anything into record books in a lot of years, but used to back then.

Great tribute Ed!! I remember you talking about this before.

It's fairly easy to tell If you have a bow killed P&Y bear. If you can pick up the bear skull by the lip In the back of the skull It should be at least 18 Inches. Mine here measured out at 20 5/16.

325 dressed. Not an ounce of fat on him either. He should've easily tipped the scales at 400. I don't have a pic but that same year my cousin who hunted with me shot a bigger one. His skull measured 20 13/16 and dressed 400.

I really enjoy cleaning and whitening skulls and trying to figure out new plaques. I have not figured out a plaque to display these two.

All those skulls are from when I had dermestid beetles. I used to clean skulls for my friends. All those animals, the gator, beaver, mountain lion, yote, and the bears, were shot by friends. I used my beetles to eat all the flesh off them, then degrease them(most of the teeth come out during this process, including that gator), then whiten. I don't have the beetles now, but I'm thinking about setting them up again.
