I must have screwed up and accidentally put zone C as my preference this year. I didn't pay much attention because i only had two points. That's right, 2 !!!!!! Somehow i drew a tag. Now i need to find some land with a good amount of nears on it. Anyone have any?

I would suggest hunting in Clark County if you can't find private land to bait on. Its pretty wild out there and theres lots of space to get away from other hunters

I'm just looking for some land anwhere from Hudson to Wasau and north in zone c. I have some bait and have looked at some public land and MFL land near stanley and some near cameron and barron. Still hoping someone has some fresh activity this year and wants the bears gone. I plan on putting out 6 different feeler baits in 2 different counties south of ladysmith and east of eau claire. any tips on public pieces would be appreciated.

Its been so long since I hunted bear in C that I can't really remember exactly where I was, I followed up on leads and rumors about a big bear and killed it. but I can tell you it was pounded by other hunters and hunting near the road would be a mistake. Put your baits back in further than the rest.

I would say Eau Claire and Clark County forests. Away from and north of Rock Dam, a lot pressure and wolves around those parts. There are guys that train bear dogs around but their baits are close to roads. I have put hip boots on and set up across creeks. There is a lot of area to get away. If you put out those feeler baits in decent areas they are gonna get hit. 1 in 3 will usually die the week before the season starts when acorns drop. Use granola closer to the season. R Distributing in Cadott is a great place for bait. Ice cream cones $20/barrel if you fill it yourself.
