Sounds like fun! 8-)
Good thing the cool weather came at just the right time. Should make baiting much more enjoyable.

Good luck with bears.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Awesome

Reminds me of the first time I took Ellie baiting, she was 3. We had a bear circle us at the bait pile.

Hope you and Lydia make many memories

What an honor that would be!

A quick update on how It all went. 3/4ths through the day Saturday It started to rain on us on the way In to one of our established bait sites that we've been using for years. Let me tell you that was one of the coldest rains ever! Anyhow my daughter and my 2 nephews even thought It was cold so that's saying something. lol! We finally get to the bait soaked (everyone of us, kids Included). My daughter says dad It's storming and It's going to hail. I said to her whatever. A minute later It's hailing like crazy! I told ya dad she says about 100 times the rest of the day. Gotta laugh at that one.

The berry crop sucks where were hunting. There's a few plumbs and hazel nuts but that's about It. Last year there wasn't much for natural food for the bear and It's looking the exact same this year. I predict the 1st 3 days will be good hunting like last year but after that these bear will be roaming In search for natural food I think again. From our experiences you cannot compete with natural food WHEN their In search for It no matter the bait you have. Last year the bear roamed more then I've ever saw but there was hardly any natural food last year. I expect the same outcome this year. On years that there's plenty of natural food our success rates are so much better. We did find some trail sign but not as much as we usually do. Shall be an Interesting year. Specially with the fact that we lost a week of baiting this year with how the 1st falls on a weekend. None the less were going to be hunting In 12 days. Can't beat that with a stick.
