how wide of cover to be effective?

I have a small area of last years rye-clover and this years weeds, approx 50x100. This area is in between woods and a corn plot. I plan on overseeding and mowing in a few weeks. If i left a 15 wide strip in the field either parallel to the woods or connecting the two, would this be enough for the deer to feel comfortable in. This area is in between my yard and a hayfield. It is for my viewing enjoyment, not expecting to shoot something here. Just trying to keep day time activity up.
