Help With New Land Dan

Unread postby Stuart » Sat Feb 05, 2011 1:27 pm

This is a new piece of property I got access to, he bought it in sections so only the yellow is where I can hunt and the fields just of bush except the little field in the bush.

I kicked 3 does NEAR the pine clump (did not see beds in there but maybe near on other property, just saw poo and pee)

Yellow- where I can hunt

Blue arrow- wind (hard...can you help where to access/hunt :? )

Green- Land owners house

Stuart, its hard to say with farmland like that without looking at a topo, and if its mostly flat it would take boot leather.

I was going to post a topo for you him Dan because I knew you would want one. I'll try to find it again. It does have some drainages and slight elevation changes that would be helpful.

I still cant tell much other than to point out some transitions of cover that are pretty obvious to anyone looking at it. You just going to have to wait till that snow melts and wear out some boots.

Why is it best when there is no snow dan?

Easier to see beds and trails?

Right now deer are not all bedding in the same spots they do in the fall, the farther north, the more this is true...
When the snow melts you will be able to see all the old sign from fall and it will look somewhat fresh and be easy to read till green up.
