slayer seed plot

Unread postby BigHunt » Sun Sep 13, 2015 7:11 am

I've been wanting to put a food plot in a certain area for a couple years I finally got my hands on a four wheeler and made it possible I went in and cut down the area about 20 yards by 50 yards wide real close to an own bedding area I want in their cut some trees down Broad and a big weed wacker. whacked everything down, sprayed and then got some Slayer seed from DEERSLAYER. Put down some fertilizer, some lime , tilled up the ground a little bit spread the seed and then packed it down... to be honest with you I wasn't expecting much this is my first plot I've ever done ...... turned out pretty good I thought 8-) I thought I'd share

Looking good.

Not bad for a first time plot. I think I see a deer track in that last pic. :handgestures-thumbup:

I used Slayer seeds last year and was very happy with how it turned out. Great communication and product. Nice plot!

Big hunt,

Did you use the four wheeler to till the area? If so, what type of tilling device did you use?

I may try this next year in an area I hunt. Thanks.

Yes...I built a small cultivator /pull for the back of my wheeler.....scrape metal from work, then I went to fleet and picked up some tractor implaments with teeth ...it can only till up about 4 inches of dirt ....just enough to get good seed penetration

Thanks Bighunt.

If you get a minute sometime can you take a picture of that device? I am more of a visual person.
