limited options

Unread postby beddedbuck » Sat Oct 09, 2010 3:53 am

this is a property I huntthat really doesnt provide too many options. I hunt inside the red box. the blue dots are where I have had the most luck. the fields to the south of the ridge are corn and alfapha. wonder what you all thought.

I would expect bucks to bed on the point where I put the green dot. Have you scouted this area? Also, where I put the red dot is a classic saddle, you can expect bucks to use this area to cross from ridge to ridge during the rut as they search for does. There could also be bedding on the point to the north, outside your red box. The blue dot to the SW, that you placed could have potential bedding in the swamp, again you need to confirm this with spring scouting. You may be able to glass from a distance to see if and what is coming out of the swamp to feed on the fields, depending on what is planted where and how much you can see. Play the wind right and don't over hunt this and you could have a couple of good hunts. Good luck.

Lucky, skill, witchcraft, voodoo, I dont know. In the corner he mention is between a cow pasture and a small cabin, about 200 yds apart. I hunted the edge of it and last day of my hunt 4 hours,to go there he was.

ok.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.
