Plots- work in progress

Unread postby HoosierG5 » Sat Sep 06, 2014 11:57 pm

Got one plot finished last night. Big N Beasty at this spot. I have some winter greens and monster mix to put in another two acres as well Sunday... I started it, but I got tore up by ground hornets after I turned over their hole. Ouch! Couldve been much worse...I got away after 8-10 bites.

Will do! Used B n B last year and the late season attraction was unreal. Did this one to be able to have my son have a good shot during late season!

I like your set-up. Can you tell us more about the attached equipment? I recently did 4 small plots.....I have a Bobcat and rented a soil conditioner for $150/day. It worked very well.

Here is one of mine I finished Wednesday....oats, wheat, rye and Imperial Whitetail winter greens....fingers crossed.

I have a TerrainTough Disc/Cultipacker from Tarter Gate. I had a lot of money saved up in basspro cards years ago so I unloaded them! Good purchase. Had for 6 years. Stored outside under a tarp. As you can see I need to air up the tires...outside of that zero maintenance so far. My quad is a PolarisSportsman 500 EFI. Pulls it great in low gear. I can finish an acre in 30-45 minutes.

How does that 4 wheeler cultivator work? Are they any good? It looks like yours works good, but that area you used is flat field land. I wonder how it would work in a small plot in the woods. Can you tow it on less than flat trails?

Oh, and it looks like yours has a flat tire, or is it just sunk in the soil?
A buck will see you three times, and hear you twice, but he's only gonna smell you once.

I believe he said he needs to air up the tires other than that it works great...

Your plot is looking good. I hope it produces some deer activity later. Trail cam pix show mine is getting some light feeding already. Good luck!
