Help me hunt some serious hill country!!

Unread postby Putt4Doe » Fri Mar 28, 2014 3:30 am

Hey guys. Long time reader of the forum. The system of hunting discussed here is fantastic - It's helped me see more deer, and bigger deer than ever before while hunting.

I just joined a new hunt club in the mountains. It's a large paper company's track of ground that has been leased for hunting for over 50 years. It's over 2200 acres, and I'm looking for some help to figure out where I should hunt.

Here are the images... where should I set some stands? Thanks for the help!

I would look at the bedding before deciding on stands... I marked some areas that look like they should have buck bedding with red dots. Blue dots mark potential stand locations.

Thanks Dan - I appreciate it.

What do you recommend as my next step? Boots on the ground to those locations obviously but what should I be specifically looking for that will separate the better spots from the others?

Good well worn bedding areas, with thick cover.

Thanks! I'll go get some boots on the ground and try to find the bedding areas.

Thank you again for the help!
