The Average Man, The Average Plot

Unread postby Indianahunter » Tue Jul 30, 2013 2:30 pm

I am curious as to what the average hunter is planting. Not all of us have 100+ Acres as some celebs. So lets hear what you have going on at your farm.

I'm working up approximately 3 acres this weekend for a radish, turnip, rape blend, myself and a buddy sprayed glycosophate about a month ago, she is pretty burned up.
Just gna watch weather for optimum rain then I will drop seed fertilizer etc.

Most of the seed orders I ship are 1 acre or less. Lots of 1/4-1/2 acres. A fair number are in the 1-3 acre range though.

I forgot to mention I have a few smaller 1/4 acre plots in an old overgrown Christmas tree farm its only 11 acres but has creek, cover and food. This spot always sees a lot of action come november

I don't plant "food plots", just let them clean up what is left over after "normal agricultural practices" out of 150 acres of row crop. I could easily let a couple of acres of corn or beans stand, but there is always waste grain on the ground come spring.

Leaving crops stand would make it easier to hunt, though.

Hummm, wonder why it appears my post was deleted (maybe I did not hit the post reply).

Anyway, the ones I am making are less than .5 acres.

not sure if my vote matters. i own 50.5 acres. 39acres woods , 3 acres pastureand like 8 acres are in crops. but i dont plant em. i allow the amish to use my open land for free so i have crops--my only stipulations now are that there always be some corn or beans and now he has to leave me some for winter. last year he left me an acre of corn :o i didnt think he would leave that much. anyway this year my fields are stripped with corn/alfalfa and some oats .

Zero, for me I don't plant any food plots. Don't own any of the land I hunt on.
