I seen some pics some of you put up with a google earth aerial pic with a topo overlay. How do you do that?

Cool link MO, the topo/aerial overlays in my area aren't the great quality but great for a quick online scout.

I also use mytopo.com. You they want you to buy a printed map but just ignore that, just follow their instruction, find your location and look for a preview link. They post a nice big jpeg of your area that is pretty good quality.

Just saw this post. Yeah, caltopo is awesome but to answer what youre actually trying to do.

Go to this link and follow the instructions, then you will have topo in google earth.

Oh... I also prefer bing imagery but I have not found a way to bring that into google.

Great site, thanks for sharing! I wasn't able to control the aerial picture year though. Did I miss something? You are able to do that in Google Earth and it let's you compare the land at different times of the year (spring, summer, winter), which is of great help to me.

I do believe thats only unique to google earth
