Interesting property, what you think?

Unread postby dan » Fri Apr 06, 2012 9:21 am

I was looking at a property near Pestigo Wisconsin for a guy and when looking at an aerial I noticed a weird looking property nearby... Closer examination makes me believe that its set up for gun hunting from the center with shooting lanes like bicycle spokes... Looks like he has a newer growth of trees than the surrounding properties. What you think?

I am curious enough to investigate a bit further.

In the latest photo there seems to be a fortess wall around some kind of tower. I don't see a hunter building a wall around his stand. i have no idea what it would be.

Klemz, I guess I thought that "wall" was a road??? It almost looks like a food plot surrounding what I figured was the shooting shack tower.
Wonder if you can zoom closer with one of the other aerial map companies...

I checked it out on bing.com.

Looks like some type of metal frame structure with tarps covering part of it.

Maybe it's CHEECH and CHONGS hideout

Here are a couple more views

The whole property is 40 acres per the county website. I couldn't see who owned the property ( Cheech and Chong seems reasonable)!

OK, I'm not sure why I am so interested in this but I dug up a little more info.
The property is privately owned by a man and his wife ( sorry, not Cheech or Chong). they don't live on the property but live 1/4 mile away...this is all from public tax records. The property is assed at 58,000 and is listed as having no improvements.

I'd say hunting tower is a pretty good guess, but I don't see food plots?

Bizarre for sure.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Very odd indeed.

We actually have a couple of tower stands on private land with big azz shooting lanes in every direction. They look kind of similar to this thing but not nearly as strange. In the bigwoods visibility is near zero so if you don't cut lanes you dont' see deer.

would be willing to guess the deer travel is 10 yards past all the spokes/lines....regardless of use

Who knows but I'd avoid the place. I have come across a fortress looking place, not necessarily exactly like this, in the middle of northern MN with plenty of Mitant anti-government anti-society signage. Those might be shooting lanes but not necessarily for deer!
