my mind is racing
i finally figured out the thickest piece on a farm i hunt in kenosha. ive been wanting to hunt this area for the past few years and finally figured out a way of entering/exiting/hunting it without alerting everything in the county. this spot is so thick its nearly unpenetrable. that is until i discovered a back entrance to the farm that i thought wouldnt work. when i got in their last week i knew i was in a special place. when i went back this morning it was a bit eerie the more i looked around at the trees surrounding me. if the trees werent mature and scarred years ago , they were immature and scarreded in the past few years or recently scarreed from rubs.some trees have taken years of abuse. i was smack dab in the middle of years of tree abuse heaven. this area has been a big buck sanctuary for who knows how long. so i got a lonewolf up only 12feet in a tree and took my steps with me till i go back in the fall. i would have liked to go higher in this area but i would be to high above the tree line for a decent shot. it is going to be a tight spot to say the least and morning only. i will have to get there well before the buck does cause ill be in his bedroom, so ill get 1 shot at it most likely. this spot is unbelievable, im flanked by 2 marshes about 70-80 yards apart maybe, and im right in the middle of em. there is a beat down trail around one of these small marshes. so what literally would have took me 45 minutes of pure to get to, i can now access in 2 quiet minutes tops through a back entance to this bucks bedroom, without crossing any trails. my mind is racing as to what buck is calling this place home, and to what has called this home in the past....i hope to find out this fall if i play my cards right............

Sounds exciting... Did you find the actual buck beds? Or are you assuming?

Re: my mind is racing
i found 1 spot right at the edge of one of these small marshes where they appear to be bedding its all beat down and some big tracks. right now that marsh is holding quite a bit of water . im guessing they bed in there when the water is gone but cant right now. im sure there are more beds but it is so thick i didnt want to ramble through aimlessly on my hands and knees. so i know they are bedding there but i assume there is more than i know. im sure my spot is good but if not it will be my only one cause its one of the thickest/tightest spots ill have ever tried. so not too many options , im not complaining though , cause i never thought id find a way to hunt it at all.
