Big Rubs!
I noticed Dan posted a rub and said he has noticed a trend with the height of the rub coinciding with the age of the buck. I thought it might be neat to post pics of rubs we have found while hunting. Here is one I found on public land, and no, thats not a youth rifle. I have seen wider tree's rubbed, but never took pics back then. Dan if you want to put an age guess to the rub(s), edit the post.

Re: Big Rubs!
That's a dandy rub kenn1320! I wouldn't mind finding some of those.
You cannot invade mainland America. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass.

I've spent days looking for a fresh rub like that...I hope you got a hunt in on that guy, or do it soon!

Re: Big Rubs!
Great pic's!!! I would like to see a person standing next to the rub with his finger pointing at the center of the rub to take a guess on age.

Tough when your by yourself Dan. Plus if Im in the pic and somebody else is taking it, then 2 of us know about the rub and well when ya find rubs like this, loose lips sink ships. Funny I mentioned to the guy I was hunting with at the time that I found a big rub and he said he did as well. I said not this big and he said did ya see that big tree bent over by it, I stood on it. I was like I put 2 rounds from that .270 into the buck I believe made that rub and never recovered him.

Ken even if you have an older digital camera it should have a delay or timer on it so you can take pics yourself.

I know this is old post Dewey, but did you ever see what was making these monster rubs?? The 7th pic down has gotta be a giant, because his G's were hitting the backside of those poplar trees!
