Mock scrapes/licking branches

Unread postby kwaldeier » Fri Aug 05, 2011 9:22 am

What do you look for in a location to set up?

What do you use with regular success?

How do you set it up?

How often do you check/refresh?

best time of the year to use them?

:) :)

Are you putting cameras in front of them? I know guys who make mock scrapes every year and some of them use they're own pee, and get pictures of good bucks.

I would put it anywhere in your spot that you know deer pass by. They will smell it and see it and come to investigate.

If you are looking to use it to hunt over......well then I know nothing about that lol. I've never put much confidence into hunting scrapes.

I just find a trail or area alot of deer are using, open the ground brake a branch and pee on it. works great and have lots of trail cam pics to prove it.
