Chris had me over last summer to do some land evaluation scouting and come up with a game plan for him and his hunting buddy Rick... I believe that show will be in his DVD this year, thought I would post some pic's.

3 finger walking track...

The beds were hard to find with all the green stuff... But based on terrain and what I was told by Chris and Rick, we were able to find several buck and doe bedding areas...

Rick mentioned that last season he saw a couple bucks bed under a certain deadfall, so we checked it out and found many buck beds right under the limbs of the fallen tree...

It was a worthy trip, but it would of been better in early spring...

Hopefully it will be on his upcoming DVD it would be good to see some more video on the Farm Country type of property that Chris hunts and see what you have to say about it Dan. Chris did you ever have any luck hunting these area's this year?

That would be an excellent DVD to have, like usual Dan had other tidbits of what he looks for that would benefit others.

A lot of times on heavy pressure public land I'll come across an area that I want to scout that is pretty uniform in appearance- maybe it was logged years ago and is now primarily aspen/birch/pine regrowth. Almost everything is upright, as far as the trees. When you see a deadfall in an area like this, its definitely worth taking a look. A very high percentage of the time I'll find buck or doe bedding there, another piece of the puzzle. Just seeing a deadfall from a distance has me buzzing over there in that type of habitat.

Pretty cool stuff there Dan. If you were ever in my area I'd happily tail you around the woods, but beings I'm expecting a 3rd kid this fall would never be able to afford the scouting rates!

Dan,
Deb did offer my your 2 first DVD about scouting and they were great!!!
I didn't understand 100% but I get the most part of them.

I'm sure the next one will be good!!!

Thanks for your work on it.
Sincerely yours,
Michel.

Understandable Muddy... Really, I try to make it affordable in one way or another to everyone. Obviously I have to charge to visit properties personally, but I also have very reasonable mapping packages, or better yet for most people, Post aerials and topo's and get free advice that if nothing else will at least get you thinking.
I think Im getting better and better at teaching these aspects on video too, so that also is a reasonable cost way to see it from my view.
Just takes a while to get these videos edited correctly.
Once I have most of the educational DVD's covered I will likely start a TV show and also air it here on the beast.
