Free Topo maps

Unread postby kenn1320 » Fri Jul 01, 2011 4:01 am

Hopefully Im not posting something old, but it might be new to some of you. There is a topo overlay you can download for google earth. You will find the link for it if you scroll down thru this first page on this site. Click on it and say open with google earth (I had google earth open already, so try that if it doesnt work). While its not highly detailed, it is helpful to me.

You should be able to find everything you need from the other links I posted, but If not you can also try
http://toolserver.org/~geohack/

Just type in the coordinates of the area you want to know more about and it will give you a list of many sources (including the ones I already listed) for that area as well as what info that source will provide for that area.
