Any ideas what this is ?
I found this site in the swamp 3 years ago.I went back last weekend to finally take some pictures.
It is 1 mile from the road . Basically it is a 2 gallon bucket buried into the ground, with a bottle of Ortho insect killer ,and 2 shovels that were hidden in a bush 10 feet away.

Looks like someone is doing some pot growing....
A buck will see you three times, and hear you twice, but he's only gonna smell you once.

don't stub your toe on the stakes in the ground holding the chicken wire cages...
beware of booby traps... more of a problem out West it seems...
relatively open for sunlight, but when those dogwoods get to five feet they'll cut them right at that height... still hides everything well from the air but lets the sunshine in...
they think they are being smart by crossing heavy cover on the way in and going some distance... but they are typically lazy and walk the same trail in and out every time... leaving an elephant trail I could follow 12 months out of the year with a blindfold on...
don't be afraid to laminate a business card from the local Sheriff department and staple it to a tree in plain sight...
if a forest fire goes through, park your truck downwind and turn your radio to your favorite tunes, grab some snacks and a cola...
