Changing water levels
My second question of the day... It seems the water level of a lot of the swamps I hunt can go from being hard ground to being under up to 3 ft of water, usually only a foot or so though. Those spots are mostly flat land, so when the water comes up it doesn't leave much for a deer to bed on. I've seen does bed in these spots when its not under. I'm wandering if mature bucks will do the same. If they do, I won't be finding those beds any time soon. But I guess the real question is who hunts in similar swamps, and do you mainly focus on certain spots that a deer could bed all year round or do you try to get out when the water isn't high and find those other possible beds?

Re: Changing water levels
Its best to scout when the water is at normal hight. But I would think high water would destroy a lot of the sign of bedding... Might have to learn those spots by hunting and learning a little at a time, or the Andrea way, dive in during the season look at the beds once then come back and hunt it later.
