Here’s a visual example of the kill referred to in the original post (just posted this drawing on another thread and then remembered this thread that was extremely relevant). My post-season scouting did nothing but confirm this as an expected behavioral pattern when all the boxes were checked (terrain feature, security cover, hot sign, etc.)

That looks identical to a setup I plan for this year on an isolated ridge I found except my access will have to be a little different. Good stuff.
