Dan's Scouting Workshop made this Happen!

Unread postby seuss79 » Sat Feb 15, 2020 11:50 am

I attended Dan's Scouting workshop last Saturday. Sure, I've read the forum, watched the videos, and even read other books. The workshop however made some things click and light bulbs turn on. Let me just say that seeing in person gives a different perspective. It did for me anyways.

I found more bedding areas today, than I ever have. I would have to say that most of them were buck beds. Two areas of beds I found, I would have not even looked at prior to the workshop. The areas these two spots were in didn't look like what I previously envisioned as bedding areas near me.

Thanks again Dan! Around 40 beds in about 5 hours of scouting. This should really up my odds next year.

Here are some of the beds.....

Good job. Very addicting finding buck beds in the winter. Sure beats sitting on the couch complaining about the cold weather. 8-)

Awesome for you! Love scouting with snow on the ground. Makes finding beds so much easier and you know they are freshly used!

For those of us who hadn’t been able to make a workshop yet, what was it about that, that made the lightbulb come on and get you to look at areas you would have ignored?

I wish it was easy to describe. I found the website in the fall of '18. Tried following everything I read here as well as what I saw on the DVD's. I found some beds. No confidence though. Really, it's a firsthand perspective. I don't know how else to put it. Things I thought I understood or saw from the videos are similar but yet slightly different than seeing firsthand. What I thought or envisioned may have been correct but not absolute! I'm sorry that I cannot hit a bullseye for you and hit the nail on the head. Things just clicked for me. The aha moments of seeing simalar things as well as being able to ask and reassure myself questions I had that Dan answered, helped me considerably.

I hope this helps. Attend one of his workshops. If you are serious and wanting to learn more about deer hutning, I think it will help you.
