Scouting before gun season

Unread postby Dieselman966 » Sun Nov 10, 2019 10:51 am

Finally got some time to do a little scouting. Unfortunately we had some trick issues and got cut short a few hours. We walked the transition along the right edge and found one buck bed shown with red. The yellow dots were tree rubs that are fresh. The green dot is some doe bedding. The dropped pinnis where I have hunted for years. There is a stand set up right over the buck bedding that someone else has put up already this year. I guess I'm wondering do you walk the whole transition or just go straight to the points? We didnt see any other bedding other than this. Spent about 3 hours scouting this area and I wonder if I could cover more ground by just going for the points. I'm hoping to do an observation sit in another marsh a few hundred yard away the Friday before opening day.
