Buck bed?

Unread postby dc10 » Fri Sep 14, 2018 7:31 am

I am VERY new to scouting for buck beds. I was scouting some public land today and found what appeared to be a few buck beds (5 or 6 along the same ridge). I thought I was finding hair in each of them but once I walked back down to my truck at the bottom of a cutover (200-300 yds from where I found these beds), I had these white thistles all over my truck. I assume they were being blown around over the cutover. They look awfully similar to what I was finding in the beds.

I also found a rub and where it appeared a buck scratched his tines against a tree from one of the beds.

So, my question is, are the "hairs" I found in these "beds" actually deer hair, or is it nothing more than some type of white thistle that blew in from the cutover? They do seem to be quite short.
