The nettles are terrible, 4 to 5 feet tall the whole walk.

I know that burning thigh feeling

Very cool scouting trip

rub juices from jewel weed on the the areas affected stops the sting real fast. jewel weed tends too grow right next to nettle. jewel weed works on anything that irritates your skin including bug bites also stops the oils from poison ivy, and the deer love eating it.

We used to use jewel weed as kids...it does work. I just ignore the sting and on the drive home it goes away. I also prefer to keep my pants on in the woods

Found my first Buck Bedding this morning. It had an old rub and hair in it. No telling how many I've walked over in the past. I also followed a rub line that led to it. First time I've ever done that. It's also amazing what you see when you are looking for certain sign. It's awesome to put the things I've learned to practice. The rain started and ran me out the woods. Gonna try tomorrow, weather permitting.

Awesome! Rain is messing with my scouting too, hoping to hang cams Monday but who knows what tracks will be visible...

There seems to be a good crop of acorns in Vilas County this year. They are starting to fall and the bears are gobbling them up. Lots of midday buck activity the last week or so.

Unfortunately found a dead buck 20 yards from the bed as well that had already shed. Had a pretty big body. Hopefully another one takes over

This photo is on our small clover plot that’s directly in between the beds and ag fields that will hopefully turn into a staging area. The next photo is of the bucks heading right up towards the beddingImage
