Bing maps

Unread postby ZSV » Fri Feb 17, 2017 4:54 am

I don't have a computer at home, so all of my cyber scouting is done on my phone. Bing maps birds eye view has been my favorite tool for this and for whatever reason bing maps no longer works on my phone. I've tried downloading the app and it has the maps, but no birds eye view. Has anyone else noticed this? I also use google maps but I prefer bing. Are there any other maps that are like bing's birds eye view that someone can point me towards?
Thanks for your help.

Zach

Hillmap.com is a cool one. Site by side view of two maps. Most people will have a topography view and aerial view being shown but each half can be almost anything.
Downside is a phone has a small screen to share 2 views.

No Birdseye but I use this on my phone. Nice to be able to change from aerial to topo quickly. (Select map on lower right)

For real good aerials I use the Google Earth app.

Thanks for the help guys!

Hilltop.com does seem like it would be pretty handy on a bigger screen. Mappingsupport.com is now saved to my favorites.

I just sent some feedback into Bing today because they have been dropping their Birdseye view from several areas I'm used to getting it. Hopefully they will go back to adding the birdseye view to area's instead of removing it.

Gaia will give u the option to have topo or arieal base maps an over lay the other u can adjust to brightness of each so you can see them both. They have satellite view and a view called mapbox. It's pretty handy cell phone app.

Hey man im new to the forums, but yes this is an issue with me also. Ive been strictly using it on my laptop. The best free option available for birds eye view is google maps. Not the App tho cause birds eye is not available. Just do an internet search on your phone for ''google maps Lite mode" and click on that. You have to be in (Lite Mode) though and when your on the map once you zoom far enough in the view will change to birds eye view. If that doesn't work here is a link.

Welcome to the Beast! I tried your link, but unfortunately still no Birds Eye view where I used to get it.
