GPS Status & Toolbox for smartphones

Unread postby cbay » Fri Feb 03, 2017 7:06 am

Anyone else try this app? My phone was not getting a gps fix and/or taking a long time and did some web searches that led to this app. Don't know why but it fixed all my issues. Thought i would pass on the info. Here's a link for Android https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... tus2&hl=en

No problem. Yeah it has a lot of cool features. I've used it for a couple weeks now and it does a great job of keeping my gps app working in terms of getting good signal. Don't really care about the app itself, but whatever it does in the background to keep Gaia gps on signal is awesome! It even tells you how many seconds until satellites / location is fixed. It opens itself whenever i open Gaia and battery drain hasn't seemed to get any lower.

I don't see one with that exact name for iPhone but I see a couple similar. I will check them out.

I currently use Topo Maps+ on my Iphone and it's perfect. Has WMA roads and everything, you can track your locations, mark way points etc... I'm still looking into getting a GPS for the sake of battery life but as far as topo maps go this one is great.

Sorry to hijack your thread but I just wanted to share

A gps is huge, especially for larger tracts of public. Love my phone for aerials but will leave that in the truck before my gps and extra batteries. Otherwise, get an external battery for your phone. Not a phone case one, but an actual battery pack. Got one for $25 and use it all the time, hunting, fishing, at school, you name it. Can recharge by iphone 6 times from 0 to 100% on one charge of the battery.
