10' contours

Unread postby huntinsonovagun » Wed Jan 04, 2017 3:03 am

I've heard rumors that there are ways/mapping sites to view 10' elevation lines vs the typical 20' lines. Anyone have a tutorial or some info that could get me to that point or even validate the possibility? I've done some search engine research but came up empty handed...

Thanks!!

Sometimes you can get on the state/county GIS server and they have LIDAR data which can sometimes be expressed in as little as 1' increments. I'm in stone flat ground and we have 5' contours on our maps so the LIDAR has helped me in the past.

Cal Topo has the USGS 7.5' topo available. I believe they cover nationwide.

Dang I may just be out of luck. Caltopo just has 20' in the area I'm looking at (the option is there for 7.5, but when selected remains 20'). No Lidar in my area yet either.

Yeah I've been in contact with Bob, but his stuff is lidar based, which means out of luck in all the areas I've had him check out. Oklahoma must be low priority for lidar
